GMC Savana The GMC Savana is a cross between a cargo van and a passenger van. For the large family or the fleet with multi-passenger needs, the Savana provides seating for anywhere from 8 to 15 passengers, depending on the model. This popular full-sized van offers rear-wheel drive and is the most popular cargo and passenger van in the United States today. Chrysler Town and Country The Chrysler company, inventor of the minivan model, makes the Town and Country, a strong minivan with stellar front and side crash ratings. This American van has been built with family safety and comfort in mind and starts as low as $23,000. Basically, after Chrysler's success with the Dodge Caravan and the Plymouth Voyager, they set out to make a luxury minivan, which was the Town and Country. Though made by an American company, the vans are actually produced and manufactured in Windsor, Ontario, which is in Canada. The T&C was recently designed in 2008 and given an updated look alongside increased fuel efficiency, heated rear seats, stow-n-go seats and better engine capacity. Chevrolet Uplander The Chevrolet Uplander is the newest minivan member of the GM family and was first introduced in 2005, though the van is expected to complete production in 2009, when it is finally phased out of both Canada and the United States. The van was built in Doraville, Georgia, though the plant is slated for closure and manufacturing has moved overseas. Ford Flex The predecessor to the Ford Freestar, the Ford Flex van is actually a crossover SUV designed to update the look of minivans without taking away their capacity. The vehicle has seven passenger seating, adjustable footrests, the voice-activated Sync system and even an option mini-refrigerator. Though the Ford Flex is made by an American van company, it's technically assembled and manufactured in Oakville, Ontario, which is in Canada, close to the U.S. border.
