Nissan Versa
The Nissan Versa is Nissan's entry level automobile designed for the economy car buyer. It's a compact car, but actually has a midsize rating in the U.S. thanks to its large interior space. The car is available both as a hatchback and a sedan, appealing to younger buyers and new families alike.
Unfortunately, the car is extremely popular, meaning it has been plagued by limited quantities. While a top selling car can be great for instilling confidence, it often means buyers have less negotiating room when dealing with the dealership.
Nissan Rogue
The Nissan Rogue is the latest of the Nissan automobiles and a new car for the 2008 year. The car is a compact crossover SUV and so it offers buyers extensive trunk room, upscale interior luxuries and a higher driver seat placement.
The best thing about the Rogue is its sticker price. At a competitive $19,000 to $23,000, this sporty compact SUV has taken a major chunk out of the Toyota Rav4 and Honda CR-V customer base.
The Nissan Altima
Recently chosen by Consumer Reports magazine as the best family sedan in its class, the newly redesigned Nissan Altima is a premier vehicle. The Altima offers a family car with speedy acceleration, great handling, respectable fuel economy and sporty controls.
However, the Altima has been criticized for being a somewhat stiff ride and having uncomfortable back support in the driver's seat. So, before you invest in the Nissan Altima, make sure you test the car out thoroughly and that the seat meshes with your back and seating style.
Nissan Maxima
Other than the Z model, the Nissan Maxima represents the highest end of Nissan models. Starting at a low $28,000, the car is not just known for affordability, but also performance, handling and speed.
It's repeatedly voted as one of the sportiest models in its class and it offers buyers a wide range of included luxury features that come standard and a competitively priced car.
On the downside of Nissan automobiles, the Maxima doesn't have the fuel efficiency that similarly sized and priced competitors like Honda and Toyota are offering in that class. When put up against the Camry Hybrid, the Maxima pales in comparison.
