Used Toyota Trucks: The Best Toyota Trucks Used Models

Custom Search

Year after year, used Toyota trucks top the consumer review and ratings list for the most reliable used vehicles offering the best in power, mileage, resale value and durability.

For an overview of the top five ranking Toyota trucks from the last 10 years, keep reading.

Toyota Tundra 2006 – 2007

In the last two years, the Toyota Tundra has placed second in the Consumer Reports comparison of large, half-on pickup trucks.

Though the older Tundras are smaller trucks, the new and larger design from Toyota retains the brand's fuel efficiency while adding more power and load capacity.

The one drawback of the powerful, new Tundra is that it lost some of its comfort and rideability. Truck drivers who are looking for a smooth, easy ride may want to look elsewhere unless they're willing to sacrifice comfort for power.

However, the truck does feature a hydraulically damped tailgate that can be raised and lowered easily right from the driver's seat.

Brand new, the Toyota Tundra cost buyers about $34,700 in 2007. Today, the standard model of this popular truck retails for between $20,000 and $30,000 depending on the mileage, condition of the vehicle and extra features.

Toyota Tacoma 2006

Among used Toyota trucks, the Toyota Tacoma is considered to be a sturdy, durable and high quality mid-size pickup truck that retains its resale value and offers its owners long-term reliability.

The 2006 Toyota Tacoma can tow over 1500 more pounds than its Honda Ridgeback counterpart while also offering a longer truck bed and increased variety in style.

The 2006 Tacoma also offers a fairly reasonable fuel efficiency for a pickup truck. The beast gets 20 mpg in city driving conditions and over 26 mpg on the highway, making it the most fuel-efficient pickup truck in its class for the 2006 production year.

Toyota Tacoma 1998

With a resale value that still sits at a high $6000 to $10,000 after ten years on the road, the 1998 Toyota Tacoma is one of many used Toyota trucks known for its reliability and ongoing power.

Created for the personal truck-driving market, this early-model Tacoma is a perfect fit for the truck owner on a budget or someone looking for a banger or work vehicle.
